She maintained that furniture damage occurred after she took out a renters’ insurance policy when it occurred before she took out the policy.According to the arrest warrant, McCurdy obtained $6,768.58 from the insurance company. She took out the policy Aug. 19, 2021, and reported in the claim that the furniture damage occurred later on Aug. 22, 2021. However, the property manager said the damage occurred earlier on Aug. 16, 2021, according to the warrant.Special agents also accuse McCurdy of attempting to obtain $12,200 from the insurance company by submitting a fraudulent invoice for reimbursement for furniture.The offenses occurred between Aug. 16, 2021, and Oct. 28, 2021.Special agents and Lexington police arrested McCurdy on Feb. 8.
